Jo Ann Cannon , our "flagship presenter", is uniquely qualified to speak, write, and conduct training the fields of
human wellness, management and professional development. She has a doctorate in Public Health (Dr. P.H.) ”with
distinction” from UCLA specializing in health education and the behavioral sciences; and a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.)
degree from the University of Wisdom in Oakland, CA. She has a certificate in analytical psychology from the Chicago
C.G. Jung Institute, has held management postions, been an arbitrator for Better Business Bureaus, and is frequently
a keynote speaker for conferences and businesses events.
It was as an early Peace Corps Volunteer and master
teacher in Central Africa, where JoAnn first became interested in issues of quality of life and also cultural perceptions
of spirituality. She later returned to West Africa as part of a UCLA faculty team at Ghana Medical School, training rural
health workers. She has traveled widely.
After serving nine years in administration and
also as a faculty in the graduate school of Public Health at the University of Illinois Medical Center, Dr. Cannon left
to establish a successful professional development and wellness consulting company, Inward Bound Ventures. She received a
MacArthur Foundation Presidential Grant, and has made a public television presentation on her professiional work.
She is a poet, retreat and travel leader, and stays engaged in several artistic projects.
JoAnn currently serves as a faculty member in a California
University and recently received a scholarship and creative activity award. She teaches, consults, and presents widely as
a motivational speaker—and is frequently asked, “When is your book going to be available?” It is now! (See our new book section)
