Where We Learn

Our courses are in the High Sierra, Joshua Tree, and San Francisco. Days are spent hiking mountain trails, climbing on some of the best desert granite, or navigating the Challenge Course among the cypress trees in San Francisco. Evenings end around the fire, sharing stories and warming tortillas for dinner.

Explore the History, Honor the Land, and Support Indigenous Stewardship

At Outward Bound California, our programs take place on lands with deep histories and living cultures. As we share, learn from, and care for these places, we recognize the importance of acknowledging the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded them since time immemorial. We aim to honor the Native nations whose ancestral homelands include our course areas in the Sierra Nevada, John McLaren Park, and Joshua Tree, and reflects our commitment to learning from the past, respecting the present, and supporting Indigenous communities into the future.
