Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Working at COBS means joining a growth-minded community that is actively creating a more inclusive organizational culture. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion shows up at all levels of the organization – in our trainings, in our meetings, on our courses, and in our daily lives. This work can be challenging at times. We are committed to navigating it together to create a supportive and inclusive environment for our staff and our students – and to foster a more welcoming outdoor community for all.

CB27 Pull Quotes
A woman wearing a straw hat and sunglasses is sitting on a grassy hillside, seemingly cooking food on a portable stove. She is surrounded by camping gear, and there are mountains and trees in the background. The sky is blue and the weather appears sunny.

“This is one of the most welcoming, warm, and inclusive work environments I have ever been in. I am extremely grateful for the growth mindset that COBS has to continue improving and making themselves the best they can be.”

Elizabeth Kunz

“I did not thrive in a traditional education setting growing up. This is a chance for me to provide an experience for students that I didn’t get. And one that I think is really valuable.”

Logan Parr

Instructor

“This fellowship has not only offered me fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, but it has also empowered me to champion these values within the outdoor education community.”
