Educators
Empowering educators, school leaders, and youth-serving professionals to transform learning through experience, challenge, and reflection.
Our programs invite educators to step fully into the role of learner. Through intentional challenge and guided reflection, participants strengthen self-awareness, deepen professional insight, and reconnect with the purpose that brought them to this work.
By experiencing growth firsthand, educators gain a renewed understanding of how challenge, feedback, and reflection shape learning. The result is not just inspiration—but clarity about how to create more meaningful learning environments for students.
In the outdoors, collaboration is essential. Participants navigate real responsibility together—communicating clearly, solving problems, and adapting to changing conditions as a team.
Shared challenge builds trust quickly. It creates space for honest dialogue, deeper connection, and authentic leadership. Through structured reflection, educators translate these moments into insight about facilitation, group dynamics, and the power of experiential learning in their own schools.
Every program is developed in partnership with schools and tailored to the goals of your learning community.
Our annual Educators Expedition is a weeklong immersive experience designed for teachers and school leaders—an opportunity to step away from daily demands, engage deeply in experiential practice, collaborate with peers, and reflect intentionally on leadership and teaching.
We also offer The Thriving Classroom, a professional learning series facilitated by Outward Bound instructors in person at your school or online. This collaborative experience helps educators strengthen student engagement and translate social-emotional learning into practical strategies that support thriving classrooms.
Whether deepening professional practice, strengthening staff culture, or reimagining student engagement, each program is crafted with purpose and partnership.
Educators leave with practical strategies and a renewed sense of purpose. They strengthen their ability to facilitate meaningful dialogue, guide groups through challenge, and cultivate environments where responsibility and belonging take root.
Along the way, participants deepen their self-awareness while strengthening empathy, social responsibility, and the courage to lead authentically — the very capacities they hope to nurture in their students. They gain approaches that foster resilience, collaboration, and reflection in everyday classroom life.
What begins in shared challenge carries into daily practice. Educators return with greater clarity and the capacity to build learning communities grounded in connection, growth, and care.
This experience is what leaders try to emulate in our professional development… this is THE ultimate professional development that cannot be matched.
