What Happens on an Insight Day
Insight Days are 4 – 6 hour experiential learning programs targeting particular social emotional development goals. Participants complete a series of games and challenges related to communication, problem solving and more. Using the experiential learning cycle, they reflect on their progress as a team and apply their learnings to build up to a peak experience, which can include canoeing, climbing a high ropes course element, ziplining and more.

Insight Day Locations
Programs take place at the James McLane Family Challenge Course at The Discovery Center and at our Wissahickon Valley Park High Ropes Course. We also bring Insight programming directly to schools, offices, local parks, trails, and recreation centers.
By taking part in activities and challenges that extend their comfort zone, participants experience the power of “I did it” and discover strength in themselves and the group. As students tackle fears, think creatively, and support one another, they build confidence, trust, and skills they carry back to their schools and communities.

One Day. Endless Possibilities.
The Outward Bound curriculum and educational methods have been tested with groups for nearly 80 years. What may look like simple or playful activities are carefully sequenced experiences designed to surface learning in meaningful ways.
Our highly trained facilitators combine ground-based challenges, low and high ropes elements, and guided discussion to help participants reflect on what they experience. From middle school students to working professionals, participants leave with insights they can apply in everyday life.
