Our Roots

In 1925, Kurt Hahn and Marina Ewald co-founded the Outward Bound approach to adventure-based learning and character development.

Voyageur Today

Voyageur Outward Bound programs are rooted in a deep history of proven outcomes. Designed to meet the unique strengths and goals of participants and partners, our single, multi-day, and expedition courses take place year round. We have both urban and wilderness basecamps, and deliver programs across Minnesota cities, suburbs and wilderness communities, state and federal parks.

CB13 Repeatable Callout

“We came to Outward Bound with such different backgrounds, abilities, and weaknesses. And when we left, many of us took something with us that we didn't realize we'd found – what I call 'grit.'"

Max Davis, Voyageur Trailblazer and Alum, “Women Outward Bound” Director
