Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound School
Sparking lifelong growth through challenge outside.
Since 1833, we’ve been a beacon of learning in the heart of Boston Harbor. Surrounded by salt marshes, forests, and shorelines, we help young people unlock lifelong potential through hands-on learning and connection to the natural world. Â
Alongside the international network of Outward Bound Schools, we’re launching the next generation of compassionate leaders and building more connected, resilient communities.  Â
One of the most ecologically diverse islands in Boston Harbor, Cathleen Stone Island is home to mature forests, meadows, freshwater and marine wetlands, and salt marshes. In this outdoor classroom, our students build the foundation for their future: courage, collaboration, and compassion for themselves, each other, and the environment.

We provide transformational learning experiences for aspiring leaders of all ages. While we primarily serve youth in middle and high school, we also facilitate private programs for adult learners and business professionals. Â

Every child has unlimited potential. With courage, compassion, inclusion, integrity, and service, we help our students discover their voice, their confidence, and their power. Â
