Rediscover Your Strength. Reconnect with Your Purpose.
Outward Bound Veterans courses help you navigate life after service. Through challenging wilderness expeditions, you’ll find the camaraderie, confidence, and clarity to thrive in civilian life.
Leaving the military can feel disorienting. Our Veterans courses offer a supportive crew and purposeful challenge – so you can reset, refocus, and return home with renewed confidence. Programs draw on the healing benefits of teamwork, challenge, and time in nature.
The following criteria help ensure each participant is prepared for a successful and rewarding course experience.
Veterans and active-duty service members (service verification required).
Willingness to engage with a crew, contribute to shared goals, and participate in physically active days outdoors.
Applicants verify service (e.g., DD‑214 for veterans or deployment documentation for active duty).
Eligibility may vary by School. Please review the course page for details.
Participants experience meaningful challenge balanced with strong support, working toward real goals under the guidance of experienced Instructors and alongside a committed crew. Through shared effort and honest connection, veterans build camaraderie with others who truly understand their experiences—relationships that often last well beyond the course. Along the way, participants gain renewed confidence and clarity, learning how to translate resilience, teamwork, and a deep commitment to service into their civilian lives. Immersed in the outdoors, they also find space to reset, reflect, reconnect, and grow.
